Our History
Family Physicians Group, PS was formed when two groups of local physicians merged their practices in 1972 The newly merged group moved to their offices to the new Medco building across from, what was then, Vancouver Memorial Hospital.
The group grew over the years and, at one time had satellite clinics in Camas and Fishers Landing. In 1998, Family Physicians Group moved into the new medical office building behind the old Memorial hospital.
In early 1999, the healthcare environment was in upheaval. MedPartners, who had been managing Family Physicians was pulling out of that market, leaving FPG without a strategic partner. Southwest Washington Medical Center stepped in and purchased FPG.
In July 1999, a decision was made to merge the Camas satellite office into Fishers Landing. Fishers Landing was expanded and x-ray capabilities were added.
In 2001, FPG, in its continuing commitment to quality patient care, implemented electronic medical records (EMR). Our EMR allows physicians quicker access to vital patient information and increases efficiencies in the clinic.
We added an in house laboratory in 2002. This has improved turn-around time on lab results for better patient care.
